Who knew???

Who knew that almost 6 years ago this angel of ours would be doing so well? Who knew how God would use her to touch so many lives? I certainly did not! God has indeed blessed our family with this little miracle! This ray of sunshine that shines in our home. We are so blessed to have her. I remember back the first day Megan was flown to Atlanta, the fear I had in me. I was terrified. Would I ever bring her home? The nurse she had that day did nothing to help me. As a matter of fact she made it plain that she did not beleive in God and that Megan WOULD surly die! I prayed and asked God to please send her a Christian nurse on the next shift. I had gone downstairs when shift change came to get some rest. Gene came and woke me up and told me that I HAD to meet her night nurse. He said it was a man and he was an awsome man of God. I was so happy. That man became Megan's primary nurse. He watched and prayed over our angel every night. I knew God had sent him to us. When Megan was moved from PICU to CICU that same man's WIFE became Megan's nurse! These two was placed at that hospital for Megan. Glenn and Melissa Cochrane are now Megan's godparents and what a wonderful job they have done at that. They live in California now but are never too far away to remember Megan. I want to take this time to thank them for the love they have shown Megan throughout the years!

We love u!!

Our Pastor!

So I decided since we had to miss Pastor appreciation day because Megan was sick I would just blog about him. This is a man that truly lives, eats and breathes our Lord and Saviour. There are days when I go into church thinking I ust cannot go another mile but after hearing him preach I am just so much better!! I not only hear God minister through him but I see it! I see God all over this man. He and his wife are there for us day or night. They mean more to us than they will ever know! He has 3 awsome children that are also living in God's will. None of them ever look at Megan different and for that I am thankful. Gerald said that Megan is going to outrun him someday, and beleive me I have seen that man run and when she does that I will be rejoicing!! I thank God for sending us a Pastor that is here for us anytime we need him. I thank God for his loving wife and the many phone calls I have made to her and she is always right there for me. God truly blessed us when He sent us to City View Church of God!!! AND..........I thank Him for it!!!!

If you don't have a home church, come visit us! I promise you will love it!!!

Please pray for Megan!

As we travel down lifes highways and bi-ways we meet so many people on our journey. We was at church yesterday when God Himself reminded me of all the wonderful people He has indeed placed in our path. God is so good. I was distraught yesterday. I just could NOT get a peace about Megan's surgery this Friday. As I carried her to the alter to ask for prayer for her I had on to her like never before. I was probably squeezing the breath right out of her. I cannot begin to tell you how deep my love goes for her. It is one like no other. I wonder if I ever had another child how I could love it like I love her. She is the most precious thing in the world to us. She is my world. As I got up and walked to that alter I was totally surrounded by what seemed like every person in their. Everyone laid hands on her and prayed the most sincere prayers. When they was done praying for her one of my sweet friends Laura Williams just took ahold of me while my whole body shook from the sobbing. I told her it was easier to turn her over when she needed a new heart. But when she's so healthy it's such a hard thing to watch them walk her back to that OR. I HATE it with every thing that is in me. Laura took my face in her hands and reminded me of all God has brought her through. SHe very carefully told me I could not have God on one shoulder and satan on the other. She told me I needed to have God ALL around me! Then she hugged me and negan to pray harder than ever. A peace came over me like none other. I knew God was right there! I just knew it. Then a lady we had NEVER seen walked up behind Gene and asked him if she could hold Megan and pray for her. He said sure with tears flowing freely from his face he TRIED to hand her over to her but she clung to her Daddy for dear life. The lady circled her arms around Gene and Megan and began praying like no other! Gene said he too felt God all around. I thank GOD for the people HE puts in our lives. Now, I have to go because THANK GOD~
Megan won't leave me alone!

Fall Festival!

We had our Fall Festival last night at the church and Megan had a BALL! My neice and nepew went with us and had a great time too. We did trunk or treat and Megan got TOO much candy! She was our little "Tinker Bell"!! Oh she was so cute! I love it when we have good nights out with her and all goes well. I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I think about Friday! I HATE the or!!! I HATE her even going in there! But, I know it has to be. She cannot keep leaking the fluid from her stomach. It's not good. Please pray for the family of my dear sweet friend David North. He went to be with our Lord and Saviour on the 30th after a 5 year battle with lukemia. He fought hard but God gave him the ultimate healing. His caringbridge name is davidnorth.

Megan's class had a test on compound words the other day and her parapro said SHE did better than the rest of the class! Is that awsome or WHAT!!! God is indeed a GOOD God!

Well, I better run! I have lots to do today! I cannot beleive it November!!! WOW!

Love to all!

We are making it......

Life has been hard but it's good. We are struggling lately but when I look at Megan's smiling face I realize I am so much richer than most. My God is so good. I know satan tries his best to tear this family down because we do God's work but we will keep on tucking for Jesus! Just look at that smiling face and tell me how even the roughest times could get to us!! She's an angel!

Love to all!

Megan is having surgery

Ok, I think we got it all worked out. ENT cannot do the tubes the same day so we will go to ENT and the dentist in December and we will probably do the tubes and get her teeth cleaned at the same time sometime in January. So, on October 17th we will have the echo on her heart and transplant clinic and then we will go on to the GI surgery later on in the day. She will be admitted. Our good friend Donna Duggan (Hannah Duggan's mom, cp-hannahduggan) has so graciously offered to let us spend the night with her the night before so we don't have to get up so early and make that long drive to Atlanta. So we will go down the day before when Gene gets off work. I hate more than anything to see her go through yet another surgery but I know it's for a reason. Please continue to pray for our family and I would like to ask you all to say special prayers for Sam Sucher's family. They miss little Sam so much and they need the peace that only God can give them.

Thanks all!

Megan is growing up!

Once upon time there was a man and a woman who fell deeply in love. More than anything they wanted to have a child together. That was not to be for 17 long years later. God sent Megan to us at just the right time. When we took the test and found out there would soon be a Megan we never dreamed the lives and hearts she would touch. God gave us a miracle in more ways than one. She was truly sent to rescue me. I never dreamed this much love could be felt in one heart. The love I have for Megan is beyond words. She makes me smile every day and she shows us in everything she accomplishes just what God can do! This year she has been chosen to be the poster child for the Whitfield County American Heart Association. She can wear this title well being as she not only got a new heart but also had a stroke. She has overcome more than anyone could have ever dreamed. I want to thank God for this miracle He gave to us..............

What a crazy time!

Hello all. I have had a crazy 3 weeks. About 3 weeks ago my neice called me at midnight crying wanting me to take her to the hospital. I got up and took her, turns out she was having a miscarriage. So sad. Then, after that she went for her check up and they sent her straight to the hospital because they thought she was still pregnant in her tubes, turns out it was a cyst in her tube the size of a grapefruit. The following Saturday Gene had to work 12 hours so me, Mom and Megan went to Western Sizzlin for dinner. Mom was walking Megan to the desert bar and she thought Megan was going to fall, she went to catch her and Mom fell. It was the most awful thing. My poor Mom lying there in that floor screaming. She broke her shoulder in 4 places. They did surgery the following Tuesday and he put a plate and 9 screws and she had 22 staples. Gene and I have been trying since that time to support 2 families! My neice that had the miscarriage and her husband are staying with Mom to help her and neither one of them has a job. WHEW! THEN.......I had to rush my neice that has lived with me for years to the ER night before last because we thought she had appendicitis. Now they think it's endometriosis! Poor Megan is probably beginning to think she has a singel Dad! We had to have Mom re-admitted Monday night because her blood count dropped too low and she needed a blood transfusion! She is home now and doing better!

I must say though, that we have walked through worse storms than this! In all this our sweet Megan is doing great!! She was a little sad when we told her our Florida vacation has been cancelled. Just cannot afford it after all this. BUT, hey, chin up, hu? God is getting us through yet another storm!! Let's just praise Him in the storm!!

Love to all!

So much going on..........

Good Saturday morning!! We have had SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much going on this week I really have not had time to stop and really post about Megan's week. She has just done AWSOME!! I am so so so so happy this year. God has truly answered prayers for this one. Megan had a great week! She was even mad last night when we told her there was no school today! She wanted her "Miss D", her parapro. She told me last night that she LOVES Miss "D" and "Wooldridge" (her teacher, she won't say Mrs. LOL! She is so happy. Miss D said she ate more yesterday then the two days that I sent her lunch (I let her eat in the cafeteria). She loved it! She probably liked doing what the other kids was doing. I am thinking about letting her start eating breakfast there since she does so good for Miss D. I was MORE than happy with her news story but I wish u all could have seen the whole story because they showed footage from when she was a baby and they had done a story on her. Well, MORE big news for her! The American Heart Association called yesterday and he said the USA today paper wants inspirational stories about heart walks and since Megan WALKED (with us just holding her hand) 1 and a half miles of the walk last year he is submittiing hers. The story that is chosen will be ran in November. I just pray her story gets picked! Can u see me smiling? I am just so darn proud of her!! Ok, another biggie! NO MORE PULL UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Panties all day, even to school! She had one accident yesterday but has done great for the most part. Is my little girl growing up or what? I have to think about the song "Look what the Lord has done!!!" NO DOUBT!!!! I cannot type all of this without saying how much we love and cherish the Braswell family. They mean everything to us!! I know this is not funny but to me it's such a "normal" kid thing that I had to laugh last night. I noticed a small bruise on her belly (she bruises easy) and I said "Megan, what happend?" She told me Megan C pinched her. I kind of giggled thinking back to my childhood days and how me and my best friend would fight for 5 minutes and be BFF's again. Well, she said "NOT FUNNy! BAD BAD!" I was laughing so hard because she was actually experiencing NORMAL kid stuff!! Megan Carroll is a ray of sunshine in our home. She was the light at the end of the tunnel for us. She has brought so much love into Megan's life and I LOVE it that she feels comfortable enough to just treat Megan like any other child! Was I mad? HECK NO! Let them do the stuff kids do!!! Am I crazy? Maybe a little but Megan Carroll is one of the first that looked at Megan and didn't see a dissability. As a matter of fact her momma told me that she told Megan one day that Megan was different than her so she had to be careful with her and what did Megan C say? She said "I know Mom her hair is a different color!!" What a gal!!! Well, I better go but before I do I want to ask everyone to please pray for Kendall Mobley. He is having some pretty bad heart issues right now and I love him so much! His carepage name is KENDALLMOBLEy.

Well, I love u all!!

Homecoming

We had Homecoming yesterday at our church and Megan Carroll came along. They had such fun together eating in the fllowship hall after church. I am just so proud of the child my Megan has become!! Later that evening she insisted on wearing her Daddy's shirt! I had to get a picture of THAT! She got mad when it was time to put her jammies on and take Dad's shirt off.

Well, we go tonight for open house at the school. I just cannot fathom in my mind Megan going into first grade but she is! I think I am really going to like her new case manager. He is an awsome man of God and is NOT afraid to let it be known. He said HE will pray for Megan to stay healthy this year. I was so glad to finally find someone in the school system that was not afraid to voice their faith in God. That made my day! I am going into it this year with a good outlook. I know God is working this out for us this year being that last year was just so bad for us. I will post pics Wednesday afternoon! I am excited for her to get started but also nervous. She just has so much potential to learn though and for that I am thankful to our Heavenly Father.

Well, enough chatting, I have lots to do!

Love to all!

Tammy

So Friday was our anniversary and after working 22 days straight Gene took a vacation day to be with me and be here when the news crew came and what happened? We BOTH ended up with a terrrible stomach virus. So the news crew will be here on Tuesday now and I will update all of you on all that Tuesday. Gene took Megan to Mom's at 8:00 AM and we did not go get her until about 10:00 PM. That is the longest we have EVER been without her!! We slept most of the day. Then, about 1:00 this morning my neice (Tabitha's sister) called me just screaming and crying begging me to come and get her and take her to the hospital because she was bleeding severely. Turns out she was 3 months pregnant and having a miscarriage. Please pray for her. She is just beside herself because she always thought she could not get pregnant so this was very hard on her to find out she was finally pregnant and loosing it all in the same day. So, I guess I will get off here.

Love to all!

Pizza Hut!

Can I tell you Megan LOVES Pizza Hut and they ADORE her there! The managers there call her their Pizza Hut Mascot! So today, as a reward for wearing her leg braces without a FIGHT we took her to Pizza Hut. Gene got a few good pics of her walking in and we took the truck so she just HAD to help Daddy shift gears! Afterwords we went down to the pond here at the house and watched the automatic feeder feed the fish. There was tons and tons of catfish! She had SOOOOO much fun today. Hope you all have a great evening. We did!! God is so good to bless us with such an angel!
